"Digital Lesson" is a government initiative to develop IT education among high school students in Russia. The program is aimed at developing skills and knowledge needed for successful life in the digital age. Our CEO was happy to contribute and lead lessons in several schools in the Kolpino district of St. Petersburg.
Classes were devoted to two key topics: information security and the role of neural networks in cybersecurity. These topics are especially relevant today, when digital threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
During these classes our CEO paid attention to and discussed with high school students the following topics
– Telephone fraud: ways scammers manipulate people over the phone and practical advice on how not to become a victim of this fraud.
– Deepfakes: the rise of AI-generated fake content and its potential impact on personal and public safety.
– Phishing: examples of fraudulent e-mails and websites that cybercriminals use to steal confidential information.
– Spam and malware: the dangers of malware and unwanted messages, defense strategies.
– Social Engineering: psychological tactics hackers use to exploit human behavior and gain unauthorized access to systems and personal data.
One of the most exciting parts of the lessons was the discussion of how neural networks and AI technologies are used to both enhance cybersecurity and create new threats. The goal was to convey to students the dual nature of these technologies: how they can work for good and also pose significant risks.
Students were actively interested in the topic, asked questions and shared their experiences of facing digital threats. For us, this was a positive and interesting experience. We believe it is important to actively share practical knowledge, especially for the younger generation of future professionals.
